About Business Consultancy
Advice is easy to buy from people who have only ever advised. What I bring is a portfolio with the losses still in it: businesses founded, scaled, sold and deliberately closed. CNFT.IO grew into the largest NFT marketplace on Cardano, with over 400,000 users and more than $750m in transaction volume. Be Our Guest was built and exited. REL Design and WhoDuzz were started, learned from and shut down. That range tends to produce more useful counsel than a framework.
Engagements are practical rather than theoretical. Common ground includes launch planning and working out whether an idea is worth building at all, growth strategy once something is working, choosing a technology stack and deciding what to build versus buy, adopting AI and automation in ways that remove real work, and preparing a business for sale. For founders in emerging tech it extends to partnerships and warm introductions, drawn from years spent building and hiring across Web3, AI, FinTech and adjacent markets.
A free 30-minute consultation is usually enough to establish whether there's something worth working on, and whether I'm the right person for it.
Ideal For
- Founders at idea or pre-launch stage
- Owner-operators who have plateaued and know it
- Businesses considering a significant technology investment
- Owners thinking about selling in the next couple of years
How It Works
- Free consultation: A 30-minute conversation about where the business is and what is standing in the way. No charge, and no obligation to continue.
- Diagnosis: A closer look at the area in question, whether product, market, operations, technology or team, and an honest read on the constraint.
- Recommendations: A prioritised set of actions you can execute, with the reasoning behind each so you can argue with it.
- Ongoing support: Continued advisory where it helps, including delivery of the work itself through branding, websites, applications or marketing.
In My Own Ventures
Businesses from my own portfolio where this work was done first-hand rather than for a client.
- Lindustries Tech: The UK limited company behind the portfolio. My development arm, and the entity every venture on this page is built and operated through.
- Block Recruit®: An Emerging Tech Recruitment Firm specialising in connecting talented professionals with innovative companies.
- CNFT.IO: The first and biggest NFT marketplace on the Cardano blockchain, with over 400k users and $750,000,000+ in transaction volume.
Pricing
Business Consultancy is quoted individually on scope, complexity and timeline, and there are no fixed packages. Work starts from £500.
Business Consultancy: Frequently Asked Questions
What does the free consultation cover?
Thirty minutes on your business, the problem in front of you, and whether there is a sensible path forward. It is a real conversation rather than a sales call, and plenty of them end with a suggestion that does not involve hiring me.
What stage of business do you work with?
Pre-launch through to established and considering an exit. The advice differs sharply by stage, which is why the first conversation is about where you are rather than where a framework says you should be.
Do you take equity instead of fees?
It depends on the venture and the arrangement. Worth raising in the first conversation if that is what you have in mind.
Can you also deliver the work you recommend?
Yes, and it is often the simplest route. Branding, websites, applications, marketing, data and content are all delivered in-house, so a recommendation does not have to turn into a procurement exercise.
Do you work remotely or in person?
Both. I'm based on the Hampshire coast and work with clients across the UK and internationally, so most engagements run remotely with in-person sessions where they add something.
